  22. Minimum Requirements
  23. ---------------------

  25. To use Ativa Net Meter for Windows, you 
  26. must have the following:
  27.  
  28. *    IBM-compatible PC.
  29. *    Windows 95 with IE 4 or later 
  30.       or Windows 98 or later or NT 4.0 or later
  31. *    Winsock 1.1 API compliant networking  
  32.      package (not needed for serial connection)
  33. *    An account with an ISP (Internet  
  34.      Service Provider) or an Internet-style  
  35.      network (for online updates).
  36. *   A  modem (9600bps or higher recommended)

  40. Installation

  43. To install Ativa Net Meter, follow these directions:
  44.  
  45. 1.   Exit any applications you are running.
  46.  
  47. 2.  If you are installing from a software archive,
  48.      double-click on it to start the self-extracting
  49.      install program.
  50.  
  51.      If you are installing from diskette, insert the
  52.      Ativa Net Meter diskette 1 into drive A: of your PC.
  53.      Then select Run... from the Start menu, enter
  54.      A:\AtivaNet.exe, and click OK.
  55.  
  56. 3.   Read the Welcome screen, then click Next.
  57.  
  58. 4.   Specify a directory to install Ativa Net Meter, 
  59.       then click Next.
  60.  
  61.      To upgrade an older version of Ativa Net Meter, 
  62.      select your current Ativa Net Meter directory. 
  63.  
  64. 5.   Verify that the settings are correct,
  65.      then click Next (or use the Back button if you need
  66.      to go back and make changes).
  67.  
  68. 6.  If you are installing from diskette, you are
  69.      prompted to insert additional diskettes into drive A.
  70.  
  71. 7.  Ativa Net Meter is installed in the destination directory,
  72.  
  73. Note:   Always keep the Help file in the same directory 
  74.         as the executable (.exe).

  81. The first time you run Ativa Net Meter, 
  82. you should edit some of the configuration 
  83. information in order to be able to receive 
  84. online updates.

  86. Select the Configure button on the main
  87. toolbar.

  89. Click on the Web Update tab
  90. Choose your Dialup Connection from
  91. the available list.

  113. version of Ativa Net Meter you have, any error messages
  114. Ativa Net Meter gave, what kind of computer you have, 
  115. which operating system you're using,
  116. and anything else you think might be relevant.

  119. indicating that your bug report has been 
  120. received and forwarded to our engineering 
  121. staff. Unless additional information is 
  122. needed, you will not receive a direct response.

  134. might make a nice enhancement to Ativa Net Meter,

  136. any suggestions or requests for new features 
  137. to suggest@softsol.cx.

  150. licensed to use the evaluation version of 
  151. Ativa Net Meter for evaluation purposes without 
  152. charge for a period of thirty days.

  156. may NOT be distributed as part of any 
  157. commercial product without a prior licence 
  158. agreement. Licenses to incorporate the source 
  159. into commercial products are also available.
